iryo will generate 660 jobs in Andalusia and attract more than 2.5 million travelers
Iryo, the first Spanish private high-speed operator, has presented its first train to reach Andalusia, a historic event since the inauguration of High Speed in Spain thirty years ago and a new milestone in rail liberalization. Thus, it is the first time that a train from a private operator will be at the Seville-Santa Justa Station.
The presentation was held today at the Seville-Santa Justa Station with the participation of Simone Gorini, CEO of iryo, and Víctor Bañares, General Manager of iryo, together with Mario Muñoz-Atanet, Deputy Minister of Public Works, Infrastructure and Planning of the Territory of the Junta de Andalucía, Antonio Muñoz, Mayor of Seville, and José Estrada, General Director of Circulation and Capacity Management of Adif. The iryo train parked at the station is the second in the operator's fleet of 20 units that is currently undergoing the compulsory homologation tests, these being the first to be carried out in Andalusia.
